Project Highlight: Pipe Lining at Fort Lauderdale International Airport

Our pipe lining division completed an overnight project at Fort Lauderdale International Airport, working under tight conditions to ensure minimal disruption to terminal operations. Tasked by HMSHost, our team rehabilitated a 200-foot run of underground grease waste line located beneath the airport slab.

Careful Planning & Preparation

Because the line runs under an active terminal, planning and precision were critical. We began with a full camera investigation to document conditions, locate the issue, and develop detailed sketches. From there, we prepared the pipe through mechanical descaling and hydro-scrubbing to remove heavy scale and calcium buildup, ensuring a clean and stable surface for the liner installation.

Trenchless Pipe Lining Solution

Once the line was fully prepped, our crew installed a new liner to restore structural integrity and extend the service life of the pipe. Leveraging HammerHead Trenchless blue light UV curing technology, we were able to complete the repair with just two small slab incisions—avoiding major excavation and minimizing impact on airport infrastructure.

The Outcome

This pipe lining project was executed during overnight hours to avoid operational disruption and was completed successfully with a durable, long-term solution. With the new liner in place, the airport’s grease waste line is now equipped for years of reliable service.
